Application

Antan OS-P can be used both as a pretanning agent and as a retanning
agent.

 Pretanning

Antan OS-P is a mild type of tanning agent.
It prevents drawn grain. It can be used in all rapid vegetable tanning systems.

Using Antan OS-P as a pretan, the tanning can be completed in a shorter duration as follows :

Drum the pickled pelts at pH 4.5 to 4.8 in 50% float for 45 to 60 minutes.

Add 2 - 4% Antan - OS - P (% on pelt weight) and run for 45 to 60 minutes.

Follow up with the standard vegetable tanning process.

Retanning

Antan OS-P can be used along with vegetable tannins during retanning, dyeing and also in the dyeing and fat liquoring of chrome tanned leather as well. It is compatible with anionic fat liquors.

Antan OS-P added in the same bath after fat liquoring improves buffability and therefore it can be used, thus, with advantage.

For both vegetable and neutralised chrome tanned pelts

Wash the wet blue leather for 45 minutes.

Drum with 60% water for 45 minutes.

Add part of the fat liquor.

Add Antan OS-P (4 - 6%) on wet blue weight.

Add the balance fat liquor.

Continue with the standard process.
